A garment altered well is indistinguishable from one that was made to fit. Our seamstress brings years of precision work to every piece that comes through the door, whether it requires a simple hem or a more complex reshaping.
We handle hemming for trousers, dresses, and skirts. We take in and let out seams for a proper fit. We shorten sleeves on jackets and blazers. We repair holes, fraying, and wear damage on garments worth keeping.
Alteration pricing is assessed by our seamstress upon inspection. Ranges are provided as guidance, but the final cost depends on the complexity of the work, the fabric involved, and the construction of the garment.

What types of alterations do you offer?
We offer a full range of garment alterations including hemming pants, skirts, and dresses; taking in or letting out seams; shortening or reshaping sleeves; adjusting waistbands; repairing holes and tears; and general garment reshaping. We work on all garment types including suits, formal wear, casual clothing, and outerwear.
How long do alterations take?
Turnaround time depends on the complexity of the work and current volume. Simple hems are typically ready in a few days. More involved work such as reshaping a jacket or shortening structured sleeves may take longer. We confirm the timeline at drop-off once our seamstress has assessed the garment.
Do I need to have my garment cleaned before bringing it in for alterations?
No. You can bring in a garment for alterations without having it cleaned first. However, if you plan to have it cleaned and altered, we recommend cleaning first so the garment is in its washed state before measurements are set.
Where are your alteration services available?
Alterations are available at both our Wainscott and Hampton Bays locations. All work is reviewed by our seamstress before a price or timeline is confirmed.
How much do alterations cost?
Pricing varies by the type and complexity of work. Hems range from $35 to $95. Sleeve shortening runs $50 to $100. Taking in or letting out garments ranges from $55 to $95. Repairs start at $20. All pricing is confirmed after the seamstress reviews the garment in person.
